This week, we considered the relationships among theories, concepts, and survey items. The purpose of this assignment is to expand your understanding by applying these ideas to a specific survey instrument. Attached below are several public opinion surveys. Choose one, and complete it as if you were a respondent who had been sampled for the survey. Then, think about what concepts are addressed in the survey. How are these concepts measured? How would you characterize the fit between the concepts and the survey items? What do you imagine the purpose(s) of this survey to be? What do you think the researchers conducting the survey hoped to learn?
